Alright, I know you have already seen a few pictures of myself eating ice cream on this blog. Well, that is because I do really love this heavenly creamy delight — only that normally I am alone to enjoy it. José might share some spoons and then just smile at me uncomprehendingly while I indulge in my scoops.
With Flu however, savouring ice cream took on whole new dimension, for she eats even more gelati than I. We were therefore unstoppable when we arrived in ice cream heaven: Cuenca was the perfect place to yield to sweet temptations and we did not miss out on yummy desserts. After all, we had to try every heladería (ice cream parlour) in town. José could but shake his head over the crazy Knüsli-sisters.

But you might wonder what the other four Cs of the “Five Cs” are? I will tell you straight ahead, for this is the name José gave my favourite tastes, after having seen me regularly melting from them during the trip: coffee, chocolate, cinnamon and coconut. You might think me crazy, but a good cup of coffee could turn a wretched day around, a cinnamon bun could make getting up at five in the morning easier or a scoop of coconut ice cream a sunset even more perfect. So, I yield to my small obsessions and I do not regret having a reputation for those “Five Cs” now. They make life more beautiful and, no arguing about that, sweeter.

Bonus: the infamous C

Cuy (roasted guinea pig), a delicacy in Andean countries, was of course a must-try dinner on our program. However, this time the sides were changed: Flu and I could not really appreciate the exotic meal whereas José quite enjoyed chewing on the tiny bones.
¡Cada loco con su tema!

well, that’s a very tasty post! 😛
in addition: if you had seen Ladina buying (tons of!) chocolate-supply in out beloved “Cacao-Cacao”, it wouldn’t be difficult to find out which “c” is her favorite one.
(though… there’s one extra-C, that’s definitely more important than all the other C’s together… that’s her precious “Cherie”.)
